Logic of naming actuators in VW-group is simple it contains "N" + actuator number. The actuator number is unique. Here you can find fitting location, connectors and some basic information about actuators.

To our mind, actuators information is reference, so there is only simple search by number.

The AC compressor regulating valve -N280 is activated by the Climatronic control unit -J255 via the onboard power supply control unit -J519. In the process, the AC compressor regulating valve -N280 is activated such that the temperature of the air downstream of the evaporator reaches the specified value of around 2 to 5 °C. For this, the AC compressor regulating valve -N280 regulates the pressure on the low pressure side of the refrigerant circuit. In loop control mode the duration of this activation depends on the required cold output, the selected mode of the Climatronic control unit -J255 and the vehicle voltage. After starting the vehicle, a value greater than 0.55A is displayed depending on the measured temperature, engine speed and vehicle voltage. As soon as the temperature measured by the evaporator out-flow temperature sender -G263 approaches the specified value, the activation is cancelled and the compressor output thus reduced.



J Measured value block 001, display zone 1 shows the current flowing via the regulating valve -N280.

J If no pressure information is detected by the refrigerant pressure/temperature sender -G395, the regulating valve -N280 must not be activated.

J If a compressor shut-off condition applies, the regulating valve -N280 cannot be activated. In measured value block 002, zone 1, the currently present compressor shut-off conditions are displayed.

J If multiple compressor shut-off conditions apply simultaneously, the conditions are either displayed alternatingly or only the shut-off condition assigned the highest priority by the Climatronic control unit -J255 is displayed.

J Under certain conditions, residual moisture in the refrigerant circuit may cause ice to form on the AC compressor regulating valve -N280 (and on the expansion valve). Such ice formation impairs compressor control; the evaporator is cooled excessively and ices up. Icing-up of the evaporator may give rise to various complaints.
