Logic of naming sensors in VW-group is simple it contains "G" (german "Geber") + sensor number. The sensor number is unique. Here you can find fitting location, connectors and pins description, some information about sensors signals.
To our mind, sensors information is reference, so there is only simple search by sensor number.
Function test instructions for speed senders in gearbox
In first gear and at idle the speed
senders produce the signal curves -A- and -B-.
A = Gearbox input speed -G182-
B = Gearbox output speed -G195-
The sender -G182(-G195) is supplied
with 12V operating voltage on the gearbox control
unit -J217 at contact 51(38). The generated speed signal is measurable
at contact 39(50) and can be displayed via measured
value block 2.
The gearbox input speed sender
-G182- delivers a signal at positions P and N. The gearbox output speed sender
-G195- can be checked by spinning the wheels with a gear engaged and the engine
switched off. To do so, raise the vehicle using a lifting platform until all
four wheels are able to spin freely.
