Logic of naming sensors in VW-group is simple it contains "G" (german "Geber") + sensor number. The sensor number is unique. Here you can find fitting location, connectors and pins description, some information about sensors signals.
To our mind, sensors information is reference, so there is only simple search by sensor number.
Function description for the gearbox output
speed senders -G195 and -G196
Both senders are located on the
mechatronics unit and are inseparably joined to the control
unit. Like all speed senders in the
direct-shift gearbox, they are Hall senders. They both scan the same sender
wheel on the output shaft 2. By evaluating the mutually offset signals the control unit detects the road
speed and direction of travel.

signals fail the control unit uses the wheel speeds from the ABS control unit
via CAN. With the substitute signal the control of the mechatronics unit is not
